Lineus Medical® Signs Global Veterinary Distribution Partner
21 Apr, 2023
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – April 17, 2023 – PRLog — Lineus Medical continues to expand its distribution network for SafeBreak® Vascular. This time, it’s in the veterinary space, with SafeBreak® Vascular Vet. Lineus has signed an exclusive, global, private-label agreement with a global, animal-health technology and services company dedicated to supporting the companion, equine, and large-animal veterinary markets. The global distribution partner has a presence in 19 countries servicing over 100,000 customers worldwide positioning them to deliver exceptional care to their patients when and where it is needed.
SafeBreak Vascular Vet is a first of its kind breakaway device designed to remove harmful forces from peripheral IV lines by intentionally separating when damaging levels of force are applied to the IV line. By preventing harmful IV line forces from reaching the animal’s catheter, SafeBreak Vascular Vet reduces IV complications requiring an IV restart. 1,2 When SafeBreak separates, a new, sterile SafeBreak can be placed in the line, and the animal’s infusion restarted without the need for additional needlesticks, wasted supplies and wasted time for the veterinary practice.
A randomized controlled trial with 367 dogs was published in the Journal of American Veterinary Medical Association (JAVMA) and completed at Colorado State University in 2022. The results of this study concluded that SafeBreak significantly reduced IV complications by 65%.1
Vance Clement, CEO of Lineus Medical, said, “The partnership with this large global distributor is an incredible step forward in our efforts to make SafeBreak the standard in IV care for both human and animal patients. We are proud to be working with a global, veterinary medical product distributor, and we believe that this partnership will bring SafeBreak’s break-away technology to the veterinary space much faster than we could have accomplished on our own.”
